2018 West Cycles Raising money for the Westpac helicopter

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

So last year I was conned into doing the West Cycles classic charity ride and as well as the warm fuzzy feelings of being involved in a small group of like minded folk who managed to raise about $100K for the much needed helicopter service I really enjoyed it, so much so I'm doing it again this year.

If you can spare a few dollars towards this worth cause please drop into my fund raising page by following the link below.

And remember every dollar counts so no matter how small the donation it will be appreciated

What a great day - lots of the BMORC regulars there looking forward to a brisk morning outing.

Bit the bullet and decided to start in the outright class after fighting through a lot of traffic the year earlier. Left near the back of the field and started to pick off the occasional rider or two on the climbs - really happy with my last minute tyre selection - Big thanks to Simon at BikeMinded for looking after me.

EOFY charity options for riders?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

As the end of financial year is almost upon us thought it worth asking...

Say one wanted to make a donation that would benefit riders. Does anyone know of any specific cycling related charities that are worthy causes?

Bicycle NSW Environmental Trust sound promising. Then there are RFS, Careflight, etc. which all do their bit to help riders if they get into a spot of bother.

Sadly IMBA Australia are not yet a registered charity so they are out Sad

Any more ideas?

NoBMoB Doing It For MS

On the 2nd of November a few members of NoBMoB will be riding in the MS Sydney to the Gong, a charity ride for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) which is a disease of the central nervous system affecting more young adult Australians than any other neurological condition.

As Harry pointed out, http://nobmob.com/node/5739, (if you cant see the ride event, you'll need to subscribe to the Scummers group here: http://nobmob.com/node/5665) it would be a good idea to have a NoBMoB team set up so anybody wishing to ride under the NoBMoB banner, can. This also enables anyone who would like to donate to MS Australia, can do so through the NoBMoB team website.

The team website is http://register.gongride.org.au/?NoBMoB
