Snake trails
A fun bit of trail with some pinches and some flow.
At the time of writing this trail is only just roughed in
The Diggings to the dig deep climb
"The Diggings"
Somehow Richard managed to find some techi, rock strewn trails to add a bit of spice to the Rydal loop.
The diggings are a series of dug out gullys (presumably used to bench the road) Dropping into the gullies will give you a tight twisty ride, the alternative up over the top sees you balance on a loose rocky knife edge... Fun
at the time of writing the trail has only been roughed in but I'll up date when it's ready to ride
Packed Lunch
A lovely sustained bit of single trail.
Clockwise you get fast Downhill sections and long sections of false flat. Anticlockwise you get some shorter pinchier climbs followed by long flowy recovery section interspaced with a few sharp corners just to keep you thinking.
Dans Track
Private Property
This trail is not open to the public and may only be ridden on official club days.
A short but tough little trail with lots of short sharp pinches and 1 biggish climb. Some nice fast downhill sections but the off camber corners will keep you on your toes.
A good track for improving your all round riding.
Python trail
Clockwise you get a fast Dh with some techi off camber.
Anti clockwise it's nice little climb to open the lungs up
Secondary XC Loop
Secondary XC loop that drops down into the gully near the water works. Very technical descent and climb out in a very scenic section. Best to ride in a clockwise direction.
Return to the main area is by some asphalt and then a good firetrail climb, or one can veer off around the RAAF base and head down the ZigZag to Lapstone.
Primary XC Loop
There are many variations that can be made based on this basic loop.
The trail varies from single track to fire trail. It is quite technical in places.
Meggsies Maze of Maddness
A nice way to finish the Big track or the middle section of the Twilight and Darkness trails
3 Men and a Chain Saw
While the log that gave this section it's name is still there and you can challenge yourslef by trying to ride it in reverse, a change in our SF permit meant we had to pull the up ramp down (No permanent structures), A fun section none the less and a tough climb out
Acid bomb
This was one of the first DH trails we raced at Lidsdale state forest and originally extended all the way down to the fire rd (and beyond, bottom section is still there and has a nice step down to berm but it's over grown and last I looked had a tree across it.)
From the bottom you have the option of going left and following the original Twilight trail out the the fire rd or right into "3 men and a chains saw"
