2014-10-16 October newsletter

Welcome to the October newsletter

Sepetember was a big month with us hosting the Spring 3hr, Round 2 of the State Downhill and starting up Tuesday night racing again.

What was really good to see was the amount of volunteers we had across the events. Many hands make for light work and every bit helps.

The Spring 4 Seasons 3hr was a good fun little event that was taken out pretty convincingly by Jarod Bell.
The low key nature of these events has kept a great vibe and I think every one is enjoying it but it would be great to see more numbers for the Summer round which is a double header 6-7th December to make up for the Autum round which was postponde because of foul weather. Details are ont eh website.

The Downhill went fairly smoothly. The promoters, Martin and Julianne from RockyTrail Entertainmant, are always great to work with and their level of organisation certainly helps for a seemless event.
Over all riders were very happy with the track and the changes made for increase flow in the top half and add to the challnge down the bottom. Big thanks to the trail builders there.

Again a big thanks to the volunteers without whom these event just couldn't take place.

Tour de Range
Yep it's *hack*spit* a roadie event but it's a great day on the bike for a good cause. With the retirement of the Celebrate Lithgow committee we were asked if we could take this event on and keep it going. To do so we've taken extra coverage with an event afflilliation with Cycling Australia.

Tour de range is an annual charity Ride that raises money for local charities. It starts at the Wallerawang bowling club and follows quiet back roads out through Darkcorner and Sunnycorner, offering great views from the top of the range. All up it is around 90km but as it is out and back you can turn around when ever you like.
The 2014 event takes place on the 16th November

On line entries are available here

Find the event on facebook or check the website of details.

Tuesday Night Racing
It's great to see a lot of new faces and, with day light saving kicking in, the return of some familliar ones too. I've had limitted access to the net for the last month so apologies for th elate posting of results. We're trailing a new system to called webscorer which will hopefully make things easier and give us the potencial to have the results on line straight way.
If you have friends you think might enjoy it remind them the first race is free so they get to try before the committ and coin. Kids under 16 and Women get free race entry across the series so spread the word and build the hype.

It's that time of year again and our AGM will be held 28th October at the Rydal show ground directly after Tuesday night racing (Approx 8pm)
Come on out and have your say on how the club is run or the direction it takes. If you are keen put your hand up for a position on the committee.

Someone else from the Downhill side to replace Skinny would be great.

It doesn't take much time, the club basically runs itself but it's hand to have an extra person to bounce ideas off and to help out when needed.
