2014-08-16 August

Well, we've been a bit quiet over winter, gathering some winter lard and chilling out.
Tuesday night social rides have still been going strong, visiting some of the many awesome rides we have in our area. There have also been a few general social rides popping up on the calendar which is good to see.

If you want to join a ride or wish to invite other to one of your rides drop over to the calendar and forums

The Good news is things are about to kick off again.

#6 of the club series takes place Sunday 24th August. This is the last clubbie before our state round so hopefully it will draw a bit of a crowd with riders looking to get some race practice on the trail.

Volunteers for marshals, timing and even people to grab photos the the website and papers are always welcome so if you are not a DHer and want to come check out the action please do so, if you are happy to lend a hand just let us know on the day.

The event takes place at The Lithgow Pony Club grounds in Sheedys Gully Lithgow

State Round
#2 of the NSW state series hosted by Rocky Trail Entertainment rolls into Lithgow on the 20-21of September.
This is 2 days of action with practice all day Saturday and racing Sunday.

Again we need volunteers for Marshals, timing, people getting photos, general dogs bodies to run stuff around the event site.

If you can spare the weekend or part there of to help us out it would be greatly appreciated.
Having a idea of how many volunteers we will get is also extremely handy so if you could let me know here or event better join the facebook event, you'd take a lot of stress out of my weekend

Build day
We'll need to have a build day or two very soon. I have some trail signage I need to install and the trail needs a good clean up before the state race
keep your eye on the calendar or facebook for details

Cross Country

Tuesday night races returning soon

We're planning to kick off the 2014 Here Comes the sun series in the second week of September.
Keep your eye on the calendar for full details to come soon

Spring 3hr
The Spring round of the 4 seasons 3hr
is happening on the 13th of September. Remember we're offering those hearty soles who took on the Winter race half price entry to this one.

Again volunteers are sorely needed to help these races run as smooth as possible

Build Day
Things are a bit hectic for me at the moment but I want to get a build day happening soon to fix up a couple of corners and add a berm or two. Keep an eye on the website or face book for short notice details....

The Dark side
Yep, road riding. Bauldy legged MAMILS (Middle aged men in lycra) .....

Um a lot of our members have taken part in the Tour De Range over the last 3 years, this is a great event raises money for local charities and provides a challenging but rewarding ride up over the Range from Wallerawang, up to Meadow Flat, out to Dark Corner, SunnyCorner and return.

its 90km of great views, quite roads and friendly banter, with options to shorten the tip by turning back at any time

Traditionally it was run each November by the Celebrate Lithgow committee with a lot of input from our very own Glen Partridge. Unfortunitely the committee retired and the ride was left with a few dollars set aside to put it on again but without anyone to back the organisation.

Both Glen and myself have had a lot of inquiries as to whether it would run again and so we got the club committee together for a chat and decided to run it through the club.

Any riding on two wheels is a good thing.

If anyone wishes to help out on the organsing committee please get in touch with me

Hopefully we can get the hairy legged mountain bikers behind this. All profits go to local charities (Last year was the local breast and prostate clinics)

Catch you all out there somewhere
