From what I was told, the Oaks single track straightened out a lot just after the fire in 2001.

In this photo, we were looking at an old single track that ran next to the existing alignment, there was still an sign post in the ground next to the track too.

Yep fires early 00s (I thought it around 04 but could be wrong) or there about's took out all the undergrowth and people started just going straight.

Lot's of nice looking rock
With that and all the great natural features I remember
This has all the indications of being a great trail

They used 350 ton of crashed sandstone and 100 ton of rocks in that first section from the two log drops down to the first sand pit.

Christmas 2001 Flynny. We watched it for a week out in the Park, it went around the Bluff on Christmas eave, then straight across the railway line and up the hill on Christmas day. Spent the afternoon putting out spot fires instead of eating dessert. Luckily we didn't have any real wind that day.

Looking good, they seem to be putting in some nice features.
