Details:

Join the CareFlight Woodford to Glenbrook Classic 2014 and run or ride the Oaks Fire Trail through the beautiful Blue Mountains National Park from the town of Woodford down to the Euroka Clearing near Glenbrook.

Covering 25km of undulating bushland, the trail is incredibly scenic and a must for keen mountain bikers and trail runners. Participants are supported the full length of the track by Rural Fire Service crews stationed along the way, providing First Aid and drinks. A CareFlight doctor and St John Ambulance volunteers will also be in support.
The event will finish with a community fair-style reception in the beautiful Euroka Clearing. Families are welcome to join in the fun with activities for the kids, food stalls and displays throughout the day.

Mountain bike riders start from 9am and runners start from 10am. Exact start times and transport and parking details will be advised closer to the event.

Registration is just $50 for adults and $20 for juniors, which only covers the cost of conducting the event. Money raised by entrants through donations and fundraising activities helps to fund CareFlight's services. Each entrant is asked to assist with this.

Teams and individuals are welcome to enter. The registration process is online and easy to follow.

Registrations will be taken until 11.00 pm on 16 June, or until the event reaches the maximum number of participants. No entries will be accepted on the day of the event. There is a limit of 650 cyclists, with no limit on runners.

Volunteer
Careflight will need a number of volunteers the day before the event to help set up and on the day itself to help with the event. Careflight would be very grateful for your assistance.

Going to put some pressure on the Dog, Steve? Going to need a few practice runs.

hathill's picture

He's going to need more gears.....or at least more teeth.

I've missed the past two years due to work commitments, however I'm free to enter this year. Woo Hoo!

I'm in too, Hathill will need the extra motivation if he wants to crack the 50 minute barrier.

Hey Ray are you doing this ? If im not moving that weekend I might have a go but ive never ridden the track yet .

hathill's picture

If I can hear you Chuck, I'm not going fast enough!

Andy Bloot's picture

I'm thinking of making an appearance this year
Last time I followed old mountain legs Giles Hathill
Well I followed him for about 5 pedal revolutions until he disappeared

Do I get a time advantage for using a 160mm travel bike
And I'll promise not to wear lycra this time
I think Todd got a shock last time
maybe that's why we don't see him any more

anyone knows where and when they'll be posted?

Another great ride up front in the "Outright Pretenders" division for me, at least this year I had a good reason not to go in my age group, it was 3 minutes slower than last year.

Had a great day yesterday and would like to thank all the RFS support that were along the track and at the start and finish lines. Good job folks.

The question everyone wants to know is:
Did Mr Plus-Fifty get his sub-fifty?

Or did all those personal training sessions at the Katoomba Jazzercise Centre come to nought?

Andy Bloot's picture

None of your business
Get back to work

Chuck's picture

Leave the old guy alone JtheB, he was lucky to ride as he was really really cold at the start line and I think he did good to make it this year. Smiling

Andy Bloot's picture

Yes Jim
Respect to your elders please
I said before the race that I would blame man flu and I'm sticking to it

hathill's picture

Yes, awesome effort by all to turn out in those freezing conditions, even blouse wearers.
